As part of a plan to expand coverage of CIS sports, Canadian universities may soon be able to upload and share video footage of their games at thescore.com.

Football prepares to face Golden Hawks

On the heels of their 41-30 triumph over the Guelph Gryphons last week, the men’s football team will face the Laurier Golden Hawks Saturday at 1 p.m. at Richardson Stadium. Laurier edged out a 15-13 victory over Guelph in their first game two weeks ago, but fell 31-20 to the Western Mustangs last week.

Athletes of the week

Running back Mike Giffin ran all over the Guelph Gryphons last weekend at Guelph’s Alumni Stadium. He will be looking to build on his outstanding performance against Laurier this weekend.

Gaels fall to Trent in regular-season opener

The women’s rugby team couldn’t maintain their preseason momentum into the regular season, falling 18-15 to the Trent Excalibur Wednesday in Peterborough. It was the Gaels’ first regular-season match.
