Resident arrested in child porn bust
A Kingston man is among 31 people facing a combined 93 charges in a province-wide crackdown on child pornography. Provincial police officers and investigators from 18 police departments, including Kingston, raided homes across Ontario on Wednesday with 33 search warrants. Kingston officers raided two homes Wednesday, but they’ve only identified one suspect.

Next step for Queen’s Centre
After two town hall meetings in less than a week, details of the next step of Queen’s Centre construction are still uncertain. Although plans indicate installation of a pre-fabricated arena on west campus will go ahead, the project team has yet to decide which part of phase two will go up on main campus.

Meet the new 2009-10 AMS council
On Sunday night, incoming AMS executive—president Michael Ceci, vice-president (operations) Leslie Yun and vice-president (university affairs) Adam Zabrodski—hired next year’s AMS council. Ceci, ArtSci ’ 09, said he’s looking forward to next year.

Presenting Black History Month
The African and Caribbean Students’ Association, together with CultureSHOCK, is hosting a visual timeline, “A Walk Through the Times: the Story of Black Canadians,” as part of the Black History Month events. ACSA President Vanessa Denny, ArtSci ’09, said the ACSA executive decided to create the timeline as a way of bringing attention to eminent and little-known black Canadians and their contributions to the nation’s history.
