Queen’s No Sweat has obtained documents stating that not all pieces of Queen’s Atheltics clothing are made in Canada. Upon signing the contract in 2008, Queen’s told students all clothing would be made in the country. No Sweat project directors Stephanie Simoes and Jonathan Adamo were refused access to an uncensored copy of Queen’s contract with adidas after filing a request through Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, but were granted the list of factories that produce Queen’s clothing.

Students want Coke off campus
Queen’s students are questioning the Coke side of life after passing a motion at the AMS Annual General Meeting on Monday to publically oppose the University’s future involvement with Coca-Cola after its cold beverage exclusivity contract ends, next year. 836 students were registered to vote at the meeting.

At Monday night’s AMS Annual General Meeting, Nick Day, ArtSci ’09, motioned for the removal of First Year ASUS Representative to the AMS Kevin Wiener. “The motion was for Kevin Wiener to be removed from AMS Assembly and for the AMS to recommend that he wouldn’t be a representative to ASUS,” Day said.

St. Patrick's Day food fight breaks out in cafeteria
Leonard Hall cafeteria was the site of mess and mayhem on Tuesday evening as students took part in a St. Patrick’s Day food fight. Despite precautions taken by Leonard staff to prevent the anticipated incident, including placing personnel on watch across the cafeteria, the food fight began as planned at about five minutes to six after a spirited countdown.

Athletics fee increase passes at AGM
A motion to increase the Athletics and Recreation fee by $120 over three years passed almost unanimously at the AMS Annual General Meeting Monday. The fee will increase by $35 next year, with a $40 increase the year after and a $45 increase in 2012 before being indexed to inflation in 2013.
