To ’bee or not to ’bee?
It was a cold evening by anyone’s standards when I wandered behind West Campus’s Jean Royce Hall a few weeks back in search of the ultimate frisbee team. Shivering slightly but enthusiastic to observe, I settled along the sidelines of the field not entirely sure of what to expect from my next hour or two with the team.

Richardson Stadium was blustery and cold, but the women’s soccer team’s hot streak was unaffected, as they slotted five goals past a dismal Royal Military College Paladins side to extend their winning streak to 13 games and their shutout streak to nine.

Men’s soccer storm Paladins at Richardson
Heavy rains on Wednesday night at Richardson Stadium didn’t drown the men’s soccer team’s winning streak. The 4-0 victory against the Royal Military College Paladins stretched the Gaels’ unbeaten run to five games.

On a women’s soccer team with only one graduating member, leadership roles quickly trickle down to the younger players. Second-year midfielder Angela Sullivan thrives in these conditions.

Rookie midfielder Nathan Klemensic, describes the soccer scene in his hometown of Trenton, Ont. as “small, not a lot going on”. Despite starting the sport early in his childhood, Klemensic said he lacked a competitive environment prior to university.

Sports in brief
The women’s golf team brought home the silver medal from the OUA championships, hosted at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham. Led by captain Kate Burnett and Casey Ward, the team finished 23 strokes above the first-place University of Toronto Varsity Blues, who hosted the event.
