Fast & easy monkey bread

Monkey bread is a classic recipe from Buzzfeed’s famous cooking channel Tasty, from the savory pizza version to tiny sweet cinnamon rolls.

Don’t know what monkey bread is? Think of pull-apart bread on steroids made with the filling of your choice. I’ve wanted to make monkey bread for a while but couldn’t decide on what filling to use. In the end, I decided to take the plunge and get the basic ingredients. After I bought the biscuit dough I surveyed my fridge and saw it … cookie dough.

Get ready for a caramel-covered cookie dough version of monkey bread goodness. This dish is meant for sharing but we won’t hold it against you if you tackle the monkey bread solo.

Best part? Pillsbury has done 90 per cent of the work for you.

Ingredients:

-          2 cans of Pillsbury biscuit dough

-          1 cup of butter

-          1 cup of brown sugar

-          1 cup chocolate chips

-          1 tablespoon vanilla extract

-          Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough

-          ½ cup maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Flatten first disc of biscuit dough
    1. Roll small ball of cookie dough and cover with biscuit dough
    2. Repeat until out of biscuit dough
    3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
    4. Heat brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and maple syrup in a sauce pan
    5. Let thicken and remove from heat
    6. Pour ½ of sauce into bundt cake pan
    7. Add ½ dough balls to pan
    8. Cover with ½ of chocolate chips
    9. Add rest of dough balls/chocolate chips
    10. Cover with rest of sauce
    11. Bake for 30 minutes
    12. Flip onto a plate and enjoy!
