A sweet satisfaction: Grilled French Nutella

You probably have heard this at least once in your life, that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And it definitely is.

Breakfast helps kick start your metabolism to burn more fat and helps lower the risk of indulging in high calories later on in the day.

If you split the word up it becomes “break fast”, which literally means to break a fast after a night of sleep. It fills you up with a boost of energy, a surefire way to be certain you can last throughout the day – or to you next meal, at least.

Start your day off right with a delicious grilled French Nutella. Instead of your traditional grilled cheese, it’s a “grilled Nutella”, made not with normal bread but French toast. This might seem complicated, but once you master it, it can be made in less than 10 minutes. A Grilled French Nutella is a nice breakfast you can make when you feel like being fancy or if you just want to indulge in the deliciousness of French toast and Nutella together.

Ingredients:

  • Two piece of preferably old bread (make sure it’s not too thin. I used Italian wholegrain)
  • Two eggs 1/3 cup of milk (add more if needed, or adjust to your liking)
  • 1 Teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Nutella
  • Olive oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. First step, in a large bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and cinnamon and whisk everything to make sure all the ingredients are well blended.
  2. Next, soak the bread into the mixture and make sure they’re completely soaked. There should be no liquid left inside the bowl.
  3. Now, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Next heat the pan with olive oil and wait until the pan is hot. Place the two pieces of soaked pieces of bread on to the pan carefully. Note: be careful, as the bread can get very soggy.
  5. Fry the bread on both sides until they’re golden brown.
  6. Take them out of the pan and spread a layer of Nutella on one piece of bread.
  7. Sandwich them together. Place them into your preheated oven and bake for 5- 10 minutes until they’re firm and no longer floppy.
  8. Take them out of the oven and cut them in half anyway you want.
  9. Last step, top them with any fruits you like. I topped mine with fresh blueberries and drizzled some honey on top.

If you feel like getting extra fancy, top it off with some Greek yogurt for extra protein and extra deliciousness. These are best enjoyed right away while they’re hot.

Enjoy!
