Football ranked eighth overall in Canada

The Canadian Interuniversity Sport poll that compiles a preseason ranked list of Canadian football teams placed Queen’s in the top ten for the second year in a row. Queen’s sits in eighth place, one spot behind what they received last year. Now run by the University Football Reporters of Canada (UFRC), the poll’s voting body includes journalists from every region in the country as well as coaches from all 27 CIS football programs, whereas rankings were previously voted on exclusively by coaches. This year Université Laval’s program was ranked first, the University of Western Ontario’s second, and the University of Calgary’s third.
