Hip hop artist B.o.B. headlined the TD Pump it Up concert at Ale House last night, ending the show with his hit “Airplanes” and his newest single “Strange Clouds.”
Queen’s won the TD Music Experience free concert last month by out-voting McMaster on the company’s Facebook poll. Around 800 students showed up to see B.o.B., Mother Mother and the Team Canada DJ’s tear it up at the all-ages event.
Team Canada DJs opened as a few hundred people trickled in around seven. They mixed a set ranging from tracks by the Bee Gee’s and Jackson 5, to Avicii and Rihanna. The crowd loved Mother Mother’s infectious indie-rock.
All arms went up when B.o.B. hit the stage at Ale. At the request of the DJ, audience members were tweeting in song requests.
“The show was dope man, you could tell from the sweat and the heat in the room, it was just crazy,” said B.o.B.
He told the Journal he’ll be dropping a new mix tape in the near future, titled Epic. His sophomore album Strange Clouds is expected to come out Spring 2012.
