Queen's Board of Trustees met last week in Richardson Hall.

On Friday, the Board of Trustees renewed policy items following their recommendations from previous Senate recommendations.

In April, The Senate Advisory Research Committee approved the five-year review report on the Centre for International Defence and Policy, subject to ratification by the Board of Trustees this past Friday.

The Centre for International Defence and Policy has been authorized for an additional five years. Established in 1975, it researches national and international security as well as international relations.

The Board of Trustees also reviewed the Senate Advisory Research Committee’s decision to renew the Queen’s Institute for Energy and Environmental Policy (QIEEP) for an additional five years. The motion to ratify QIEEP passed.

The QIEEP covers research into energy and environment policy issues.

The board also ratified the five-year term renewal of the Queen’s Cancer Research Institute (QCRI).
