Editors’ Note: National Day for Truth & Reconciliation

The Journal is observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and has altered its production schedule accordingly. We are publishing two News stories that are relevant to the day and serve to educate the Queen’s community about related events on campus, but the rest of our Issue 8 content will be released tomorrow.

The Journal strongly condemns racism and the atrocities committed against Indigenous peoples at the hands of our government and white settlers. The Journal has historically excluded marginalized groups, but we are striving for truth and reconciliation.

Over the last few years, we have established a BIPOC Advisory Board to review relevant content, and a BIPOC Contributor Pool to compensate our BIPOC contributors. We are actively seeking to educate ourselves on Indigenous issues and are always working to find more avenues to support Indigenous communities and amplify their voices.
