Dear Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic),Thank you for responding to my initial email but I take issue with all of your major points (you should consider updating your rather outdated form response).

In 2020, 90 per cent of American millennials got their news from popular social media platforms.

Last week in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ), Sherif Emil, a pediatric surgeon at McGill University, penned a letter criticizing a picture of a young girl in a hijab used in an earlier piece.

Last month, the hockey world experienced a day of reckoning when Kyle Beach, a professional hockey player, revealed himself as John Doe — the plaintiff in an ongoing sexual assault lawsuit against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Dear Editors,

For students with mental illness diagnoses, it’s particularly important to attend an institution with systems in place to ensure one’s academic success.

Wait times to get help for mental health at Queen’s and university campuses across the country are simply unacceptable.

Canadian federal elections have slowly become more polarized and divisive, and candidates have become less appealing. As this change has occurred, voter turnout has decreased since the mid-1980s.

Queen’s has a longstanding history of rowdy homecoming celebrations.

In the wake of the sexual violence that occurred during Western University’s orientation week, I’ve been reflecting on my own experience in dealing with sexual violence and the experiences of some of my loved ones.

On Sept. 27, we donned our raincoats and made our way to Summerhill to participate in a student-led walkout to show solidarity with survivors of sexual assault. With activism and advocacy being a large part of both our lives, it was only natural we would both attend.

On Sept. 21, the AMS Assembly officially motioned to “publicly oppose the Cold Beverage & Vending Supply Agreement that Queen’s University has with Coca-Cola Refreshments Canada Company.”

The sexual violence that occurred over frosh week at Western isn’t an isolated incident.

Students and candidates from the Liberal, Conservative, and New Democratic parties make their case.

This election season, some voters may be tempted to cast their ballots for either the  Conservatives or Liberals in an effort to ensure their ideologies are reflected in Parliament.

Graduate TAs and RAs at Queen’s perform work necessary for successful course delivery and research output in the university. We work as the fulcrum upon which course delivery is carried out, liaising between students and instructors, ensuring that the needs and expectations of either are communicated well to the other.

Dear Editors,I am the father of a student going into second year at Queen’s this fall.I read that Queen’s has announced that it will require students to be vaccinated and that the school will open in September for in-person classes. The news release did not say how Queen’s will confirm that those who come to school are vaccinated. It is vital that Queen’s require students to show proof of vaccination. Queen’s must make sure that the school population is healthy. It will be wrong if the actions of a few jeopardize the enjoyment of many.

With the 2021 Rector Election coming up in September, students and the university must be aware of how integral the position is.

This pride month, I’ve had the privilege to actively reflect on what I want to advocate for within the LGBTQ2S+ community.

I approach the writing of this report from the standpoint of a Queen’s alum. I have witnessed and experienced first-hand the pervasiveness of sexual violence and harassment on this campus.
