Last Saturday, the men’s basketball team made an improbable comeback to win the second leg of a back-to-back weekend series against Waterloo and Laurier.

Last weekend, the Gaels (11-7) played games on Friday and Saturday against Kitchener’s Waterloo Warriors and the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.

The women’s basketball team (8-4) took Algoma to task last Saturday, piling up on the visitors 84-34. The 50 point win amounts to one of the larger margins of victory in Queen’s history.

The Gaels (7-4) have had a strong campaign, and with their first game of the new year coming up this weekend, it’s a good time to review the highs and lows of the season so far.

The Gaels defeated the University of Toronto Varsity Blues and the Ryerson Rams in back-to-back games this weekend.

Women’s basketball made waves nationally last weekend when they beat both the Carleton Ravens and the Ottawa Gee-Gees in stunning fashion.

Over the weekend, the men’s basketball team won at home against the Guelph Gryphons and then on the road against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.

On Friday, Nov. 1, the men’s basketball team plays at home against the Guelph Gryphons, and after rigorous training throughout the offseason, the team is ready to make a comeback.

Last Wednesday, the York Lions ended the women’s basketball team’s season in a dramatic, late-game 76-70 win in the OUA quarterfinals.

Despite squeaking through the first round of the OUA playoffs, the men’s basketball team’s season ended last Saturday with an 80-63 loss to the Carleton Ravens.

Over the weekend, the men’s basketball team (11-10) beat the UOttawa Gee-Gee’s (13-8) 78-75 in overtime and fell to the Carleton Ravens (20-1) 81-61 in their final home regular season games.

In their lone weekend game on Friday, the women’s basketball team (12-7) clinched a playoff spot with an 80-64 win over the York Lions (8-11).

This Friday, the men’s basketball team (10-9) played their only game of the weekend against the York Lions (6-13), landing a comfortable 111-71 victory at home.
