$2,700 of Cocaine and Ecstasy seized in University District bust

Drug bust is the third in the district this year

On July 13, a 23-year-old man was arrested in the University District after Drug Enforcement Unit officers found cocaine and ecstasy in his home.

With the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit, a search warrant was executed and officers raided an apartment on the 100-block of Division Street.

In addition to $2,000 worth of cocaine and $700 worth of ecstasy, further property relating to drug trafficking was also seized by officers at the time.

The man was present during this time and was arrested.

Upon being transferred to police headquarters, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused’s name was not released by Kingston Police, as he has promised to appear on a future court date concerning his charges.

This marks the third drug bust in the University district in the past nine months.
