1. Where can people find you?
In the studio mostly, Ontario Hall.
2. What inspires you?
People, friends, family, books, Pink Floyd, outer space, lichen, oceans and seas and vastness.
3. How would you describe your art?
Dark and maybe strangely comforting with a surreal quality to it.
4. What’s the nicest thing someone has said to you about your work?
It’s the best feeling ever, and also a relief, when someone can look at your work and articulate exactly what you are unable to say.
5. What’s the worst thing someone has said to you about your work?
When they say “I don’t get it” without even trying. It’s mostly just irritating.
6. What are your current obsessions?
Krisjanis Kaktins-Gorsline, pirates, abandoned houses—and of course outer space and aliens.
7. When someone says Kingston, you say …
K-hole. It’s East.
8. What are your future plans?
Make art, travel abroad, get a Master of Fine Arts and never stop making art.

1. Where can people find you?
Ideally, by willows and water. Realistically, the dark recesses of Ontario Hall’s basement.
2. What inspires you?
Understanding and being understood.
3. How would you describe your art?
Woven.
4. What’s the nicest thing someone has said to you about your work?
People say a lot of things. I try to listen to everything. Someone recently said to me that my work inspires her and I felt my skin buzz.
5. What’s the worst thing someone has said to you about your work?
Flippant suggestions sometimes get under my skin. It’s living. You have to be gentle with it. That being said, irreverence has been a good friend to me over the years. Contradiction, too.
6. What are your current obsessions?
A flea. A fly.
The whitest lie.
A crack in the wall.
A thoughtful lull.
HTML, impossible geometry, old loves, artist biographies, listening and planning. Zach Galifianakis truly fascinates me right now.
7. When someone says Kingston, you say …
I oscillate violently between loving and loathing this place, but at the end of the day I usually manage to rest the pendulum on the former. There’s a lot of Kingston in me and a lot of me in it. If you allow yourself to, you can find and do some amazing things here.
8. What are your future plans?
To become immortal, get a dog and die, in no particular order.
The Breath of it All opens this Friday at The Union Gallery in Stauffer Library. The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A reception will take place on March 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Food and wine will be served.
