Student government is still at a standstill in looking for its next student leaders.
After almost four hours of debate, statements, and replies to questions, Team LOT lost the confidence vote at Special AMS Assembly.
The results of the vote were announced by AMS Secretariat Alysha Ahmad on Feb. 13 at 9:45 p.m in Grant Hall. Two members of AMS Assembly voted in confidence, while 21 members of Assembly voted against team LOT. Four members of Assembly abstained from voting.
All three members of the current AMS executive voted against the team.
Team LOT’s presidential candidate Owen Rocchi, Comp ’24, vice-president (university affairs) candidate Leo Yang, ArtSci ’25, and vice-president (operations) candidate Tyler Tâm Trần, Comm ’25 are eligible to hold office as AMS executives but as individuals.
Following this vote, Assembly will reopen the nomination period for individuals.
