The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Bill Flanagan, has announced he won’t seek another term after 11 years at the school.
In a statement, Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), Tom Harris, wrote Flanagan’s final term will end on June 30, 2019.
Flanagan, a member of the Faculty since 1991, was appointed to his current position in 2005. As dean, he oversaw several changes to the Faculty, including the implementation of blended learning across the Faculty, and the establishment of the Law PhD program in 2008.
As an educator, Flanagan’s research and teaching spans corporate law, international economic law and property law.
According to a statement, Harris will chair a committee tasked with advising Principal Daniel Woolf on the selection of a new dean.
In a statement to The Gazette, Harris said he’d like to encourage “all members of the Queen’s community to provide input regarding the Faculty of Law, and to suggest individuals to serve on the advisory committee.”
