As voting closed Wednesday night, Jared Fernyc was elected the Residence Society’s (ResSoc) incoming Vice-President of Residential Affairs (VPRA).
Fernyc ran uncontested and earned a 92.6 per cent vote of confidence, though only 5.5 per cent of eligible voters cast a ballot in the election.
In an interview with The Journal, Fernyc thanked the electoral committee for the confidence they expressed in him to fulfil this role in ResSoc.

“I’m looking forward to the positive change the incoming executives will be able to make for the incoming students next year,” Fernyc said.
As the ResSoc executive elections come to an end, Fernyc said he’s ready to tackle the most pertinent issues facing first-year students.
“Overall, I’m just really excited,” he said.
