This month, Queen’s golf put the finishing touches on a solid OUA season.

From Oct. 17 to 19, the Queen’s men’s and women’s golf club teams competed in Oshawa, ON., at the 2025 OUA Golf Championships. In the end, the men brought home silver, while the women’s team finished 7th in the province.

The men’s team put up an extremely strong all-around performance to capture silver, finishing just three strokes behind the Laurier Golden Hawks. Reigning OUA individual champion Daniel Abraha, Comm ’26, fought from behind after finishing the first round tied for 15th, fighting up eight slots to tie for 7th with two above par.

It was a similar story for Kendrick Webster, Sci ’27, whose two under par in the second round was the third best performance of the day. His strong swing tied him with Abraha at 7th place, shooting him up 18 spots from his round one finish of 25th. Additionally, freshman Cameron Greatrex, Sci ’29,  continued an extremely strong rookie year, with his consistent performance earning him a top ten finish, tying for 9th.

Luke Macpherson, Sci ’26, finished with a formidable 19th-place finish after tying for a top-five spot after day one, going even on round one but shooting seven above par on round two. Ryan Crowley, ConEd ’26, rounded out Queen’s scorecard, finishing with nine above par and tying for 27th among 72 competitors.

Abraha, Webster, and Greatrex were honoured as OUA Second-Team All-Stars thanks to their strong performances.

On the women’s side, the Gaels put up a solid showing. Hannah Lee, HealthSci ’29, continued an incredible rookie year, tying for 6th after shooting 12 above par, including an extremely strong performance on round one that tied as the second best of the day.

Kate Fairey, Comm ’28, held strong, finishing tied for 23rd after going 26 over par. Gella McDaniel, ArtSci ’27, and Marlow Slatter, Kin ’27, rounded out the scoring at 27th and 33rd, respectively, after strong second rounds.

Lee was named to the OUA Second All-Star Team, emerging as a top golfer on the women’s team in just her first year at Queen’s. On Sept. 22, Lee won individual gold at the Brock Invitational, followed by a monstrous day one performance at the Waterloo Invitational on Sept. 29 to tie for co-gold medalist honours.

The event is the last time the Gaels will compete in the Tricolour until June, when the 2026 Canadian University/College Championship is expected to take place and end the 2025-26 season.
