As I prep my summer reading list, Good Material by Dolly Alderton finds a place right at the top. Alderton’s newest book, published last November, tells of a disastrous journey between Andy and Jen, a recently separated couple, as they navigate heartbreak, romance, and friendship.
After it was highly recommended by friends, I’m eager to read this book, and dip my toes into Dolly Alderton-infested waters. Described as the “true voice of a generation,” Alderton speaks to the unique relationships of the digital age.

This week, Ariana Grande released her newest album eternal sunshine. Filled with classic Grande vocals and cheeky lyrics, this is the mid-tempo pop album fans have been waiting for. My personal favourite, “we can’t be friends (wait for your love)” has gone viral on TikTok, along with many of the record’s singles, solidifying Grande’s title as pop princess.
Speculated to be a post-divorce album, eternal sunshine demonstrates a more mature side of Grande, and is sure to achieve the great success the star is used to.

Amazon Prime’s newest limited series Mr. and Mrs. Smith, heavily inspired by the 2005 cult classic of the same name, is my new favourite show. Like the movie, the show follows two spy-assassins who go undercover as a married couple. The remake, however, inverts the original plot where the two protagonists transform from coworkers to lovers.
The show stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine as your typical millennial spy-couple, with the most palpable passive-aggressive chemistry I’ve seen since Brangelina formed the original Mr. and Mrs. Smith couple. The series hits all the notes I crave: action, drama, a will-they won’t-they romance, and the perfect sprinkle of comedy. If you find yourself endlessly scrolling for something new to watch, I highly suggest you hit play on Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

As reported by fashion news outlets and ateliers everywhere, ice blue is the colour of spring and summer. This cool-toned hue is the perfect neutral for the season’s palette, echoing the clarity of sunny skies.
