Campus Security issues date rape drug alert
Campus Security warned students Tuesday that date rape drugs may have been used in the Queen’s community.
Campus Security Director Dave Patterson said he can’t release details about the incident posted on Campus Security’s website.
“The person involved didn’t want any personal identifiers released—date, time, place, gender, etc.,” he said.
“They just wanted an alert sent out so other people could be aware … I can’t say if it was on campus or off. I can’t give a date or time, because the person was concerned that putting those types of identifiers out may draw some correlation to them.”
Patterson said the student drank something that he or she had reason to believe contained a date rape drug and is receiving the appropriate support and treatment. He wouldn’t say if the person
was assaulted.
