The next executive team for the Physical Health and Education Kinesiology Student Association (PHEKSA) has been elected.

On Feb. 1, Cynthia Charette, Kin ’26, was elected president, while Olivia Solly and Kay Hartwick, both Kin ’27, were elected vice-president (operations) and vice-president (university affairs), respectively.

PHEKSA’s election timeline included the nomination period from Jan. 20 to 25, the campaign period from Jan. 27 to 29, voting on Jan. 30 and 31, with results announced on Feb. 1. Each executive position oversees different aspects of the Society. The President requires one prior year of experience with PHEKSA, is a voting member on AMS Assembly, and participates in President’s Caucus—a monhly meeting where the AMS President sits down with all faculty society presidents to meet, share their ideas, and collaborate.

The Vice-President (Operations) is responsible for all Society events and general operations. They also sit on Arts and Science Undergraduate Society (ASUS) Assembly, given PHEKSA is a sibling society to ASUS. The Vice-President (University Affairs) serves as a voting member on AMS Assembly and manages the Society’s grants committees and equipment fund.

The newly elected team declined interviews, citing being busy due to assembly hiring, elections, and midterms. They thanked students for their support and acknowledged the challenges ahead.

The new executive will oversee PHEKSA’s operations for the 2025-26 academic year starting May 1.
