Hours before the Equity Town Hall, senior administrators at Queen’s University pulled out of the event.
The AMS told The Journal the town hall had been postponed due to “blanket cancellation” from University senior administrators the night before the event was scheduled to take place on March 12 in Mitchell Hall.
The event, open to all students, was organized by the AMS Social Issues Commission and the University to discuss equity and inclusion on campus. In the past, senior administrators responded to questions about the housing crisis, classroom safety, and the sexual violence policy.

The University didn’t respond to The Journal’s request for comment on administrators’ reasons for postponing. The previous equity town hall was moved to January 15 after an initial cancellation.
The AMS hopes a rescheduled date will be announced soon.
