Your community newspaper needs your help.
Student journalism is journalism. We cover the stories other outlets won’t: your club, your team, your band, your student government, your university. We employ dozens of students and offer dozens more hands on journalism experience at a school with no formal program. Many of them get jobs in the industry afterward—with no experience beyond serving our campus.
But that’s at risk.
Facing industry-wide downturns in print ads, the loss of classifieds, and the inability for online ads to make up the difference, we faced a final challenge with a recent minimum wage hike. Our staff’s fair compensation is important, but we need community support to keep our service and keep our local community accountable.
A healthy campus with accountable leaders needs a free press. On January 28-29, we’re asking you to help support it.
Have a question, about where your money is going? Send us a message and we can address your concerns directly.
