Which Taylor Swift album matches your zodiac sign

12 albums for 12 zodiac signs equals some Swiftie fortune-telling

Your Venus sign might be in ‘Lover.’

Taylor Swift’s success seems to be written in the stars.

A key part of the billionaire singer’s brand are her “eras,” the personas she adopts for a year or two at a time following album releases. These eras are tracked through changes in her wardrobe and social media aesthetics, and their unique vibes pair perfectly with each of the 12 Zodiac signs. With the release of The Life of a Showgirl, Swift’s 12th studio album, it’s time to explore how each of her eras aligns with the stars .

First, Aries is clearly Red, since Aries are known for intense emotions expressed in the album. Since this album marked a huge shift for Swift, moving out of her country-influenced eras, as the Zodiac’s “pioneer” Aries is a perfect fit. Drama, boldness, and dynamic tension fit with Red and Aries.

Next, as an introspective and comforting earth sign, Taurus relates clearly to folklore. The stillness of this album feels like the peace and patience Taureans are often associated with. Folklore’s woodsy aesthetic fits Taurus’s reputation as a homebody, and the sign’s outdoor-vibes as represented by the bull.

Gemini switches things up with their classic two-faced nature, connecting with the double album The Tortured Poets Department(TTPD). As Swift’s wordiest album, TTPD fits with Gemini’s ruler Mercury, representing communication. Geminis are fast-paced hustlers, and since TTPD released in the middle of Swift’s biggest tour ever, it’s a perfect match for Geminis.

Cancer is a softer, romantic sign, represented by the album Lover. Signified by the crab, Cancers can be nurturing and idealistic—much like the tracks on this album. Beware the crab’s claws, however, as Cancers can also be moody, perfect for Lover’s track list full of emotional extremes.

Leo is bold and beautiful, represented by The Life of a Showgirl. Much like the album’s critical reception, you either love or hate Leos. As the centres of attention, Leos are really softies inside, similar to the lyrics of this album.

Virgos are softer, represented by folklore’s sister album evermore. Virgos are grounded and practical, and with Virgo season taking place near the beginning of fall, the autumnal aesthetics of this album line up perfectly. I also think analytical Virgos would be great at planning the “perfect murder,” like in “no body no crime (Feat. HAIM).”

The air sign Libra is often associated with relationships, which many tracks on her self-titled debut album, Taylor Swift, involve. Songs like “Invisible” and “Tied Together With a Smile” address feelings of loneliness and insecurity, the underside of Libra’s charming exterior. Libras are also romantic and flirty, like the song  “Mary’s Song (Oh My My My).” There’s a lot for Libras to love on this album, and a lot for them to ponder—perfect for a sign constantly lost in their thoughts.

Despite thinking constantly, Scorpios are harder to read at first glance, like the album reputation. This pairing almost needs no explanation. As a fixed water sign, Scorpio’s intense, serious exterior conceals the softie inside. In this era, Swift shed her identity as “America’s sweetheart” for a sexier life full of trap beats and internet drama. Fitting, considering Scorpios rule the Zodiac’s cycle of death and rebirth.

Sagittarius is known for their spark and spunk, a perfect fit for the fiery album Fearless. Fun fact: Swift herself is a Sagittarius.Fearless’ fairy-tale depictions of love share Sagittarius’s optimism and passion for life. When it comes to achieving their goals, like Swift, Sagittarius is a fearless sign.

Many people attributed Swift’s success with Fearless to her co-writers; in response, Swift wrote Speak Now all on her own. Her “do it yourself” attitude fits Capricorn’s strong moral compass and responsible exterior. This album features several tracks calling out bad behaviour, like “Dear John.” Capricorn’s strong moral compass drives them to call out foul play when they see it.

Aquarius is associated with intellectual curiosity, the kind Swift explored in 1989 as she transitioned fully into pop music. The album, like Aquarius, is fiercely independent, tries new things, and focuses on exploring identity in a new environment. As ruler of the astrological 11th house of community and friends, Aquarius also fits an era where Swift’s public friendships were heavily scrutinized.

Finally, Midnights and Pisces are both associated with fantasy, dreams, and the subconscious mind. Something about the hazy, synth-heavy sound on this album fits with Pisces’ sensitive demeanor. Swift’s search for a balance between fun and stability in relationships in tracks like “Bejeweled” and “Lavender Haze” is extremely Piscean.

Swift’s discography has generated multiple “eras” for fans, just as astrology-lovers adopt and scrutinize personality traits based on the stars. Whether you love or hate Swift, she’s built a legacy nobody can undo.
