Queen’s soccer hit the ground running, stacking wins in their season openers.

The Queen’s Gaels are set to kick off another busy year, with the fall bringing the season openers for Queen’s football, rugby and soccer teams.

In honour of the 89th annual Colour Awards taking place from April 1 to 2, The Journal completed its annual Staff Picks for Varsity Athlete of
the Year.

Queen’s Women’s Soccer star keeper Kirstin Tynan, ArtSci ’24, was able to fulfill a childhood dream last Wednesday, signing with the Vancouver Rise FC of the newly founded Northern Super League (NSL).

While a heartbreaking loss marked the end of the Women’s Soccer team’s 2024 season, it marked the beginning of another season less visible to fans—the offseason.

In 2024, an estimated 30,500 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer—a staggering number underscoring the importance of awareness and action.

A five-game winless streak finally came to an end for the Gaels on Sept. 20, with a dominant 5-0 victory away against the also winless RMC Paladins.
