To the untrained eye, may look like a kindergarten classroom with its bright colours and imaginary creatures.

The Arrogant Worms came home to their alma mater this weekend.

When I think of Thanksgiving, I automatically think of turkey, gravy, stuffing, roasted vegetables and, best of all, the desserts. Pie and tarts are the traditional hearty desserts to cap off a Thanksgiving meal but, this year, I wanted something that’s quick and easy to whip up: no bake caramel apple cheesecakes.

What could one hundred free pitas have to do with today’s business environment?
At the Queen’s Conference on the Business Environment Today (QBET), there was much to learn from the CEO of Pita Pit at the kickoff taster event and other keynote speakers invited to share their career experience and industry knowledge.
Conferences like QBET are meant to engage students and foster networking connections, but they’re by no means a new opportunity nor in dying exhaust at Queen’s.

A team of four MBA students from McGill University have recently won an international prize for their unique proposal on using bugs as a way to eliminate world hunger.
The Hult Prize Foundation runs an annual contest open to college and university students to develop ideas for organizations to tackle social or environmental problems. This year’s challenge of working towards the eradication of world hunger was Bill Clinton’s idea. The $1 million prize is to be used to implement the winning team’s proposal.

Chloe Grande is in France on exchange for the upcoming year. She will be sharing her experience as a regular contributor for QJBlogs.
Before I left, a typical conversation about my exchange to Lyon usually involved me repeating the name of the city several times and a lot of blank stares. I’d say the name a little slower and hope for a spark of recognition. To be fair, though, I didn’t know much about the city before, either.

If you’re in need of a playlist to get the adrenaline flowing for Homecoming, it’s your lucky day.

They weren’t talking or trying to take over the world, but the robots were full of character.

Like a Quentin Tarantino film but shorter, Glengarry Glen Ross is a play that comes complete with strong characters, gritty and perfectly timed storytelling and, of course, extensive profanity.

Alumni aren’t the only ones coming home this weekend.

Queen’s Players is no longer just a drinking party.

It’s been a month since I’ve arrived in Hong Kong and I feel as if it might all be an illusion – maybe I’ll wake up one day and I’ll find myself in Kingston, an hour away from an 8:30 lecture. Nevertheless, it’s the real deal… I’m half way around the world.
Since I got here, I’ve been mesmerized by all the sights, sounds and flavours of this place. Some have been positive, some were sightly sour, but all were eyeopening. It would take too long to share all my with you, but let me take you through the biggest differences I’ve noticed between my life here and my life in Canada.

Signs of Homecoming are everywhere you turn.
Parties are being prepped, tickets are selling out and there isn’t a mattress in your house that hasn’t been claimed by a friend from out of town. With all these arrangements in place, it’s time to start planning the weekend’s most important element: your outfit.
Showing your tricolour spirit is an absolute must – but, there’s no reason to limit yourself to Queen’s sweats and free t-shirts.
Instead, take the time to put an outfit together that reflects your personal style as well as your love for Queen’s.

A guffaw, a chuckle and an unaccounted-for smile – they’re the telltale signs of another Kingston WriterFest filled with cultural and philosophical insight.
It’s the powerful moments of experience – while meeting our favourite authors – that continue to inform our understanding of ourselves and the world. To be rapturously involved in text and academic papers is a given for students, an obligatory must, but so often it’s difficult to access the very creators of the works we admire.

You do it for the love of it.

It’s doll making with a message.

It’s officially fall now, and with Thanksgiving arriving shortly, I figured the season occasioned a festive hummus recipe. Succulent and high in fibre, butternut squash is arguably one of the best things about fall. You can use any winter squash, but I chose butternut squash because, there’s nothing better than roasted butternut squash.

Are Queen’s on-campus a cappella vocal groups like Glee and Pitch Perfect with bright lights, choreography and intergroup feuds? I spoke with president and vice president of Momentum, a co-ed a cappella group, Nicolle Domnik, ArtSci ’10 and PhD ’15, and Jessica Wayner, ArtSci ’15, to discuss their experience singing a cappella.
