Meet Humans of Kingston, a visual census of Kingston aimed at conveying stories of local personalities through a photograph. Photographer Jonathon Reed (ConEd ’15) can be found roaming the streets of Kingston, snapping portraits of students, families, dog walkers and the like. I was introduced to Humans of Kingston by a friend and loved the unique concept. Jonathon photographs with his heart and conveys undeniable passion for his work. Be sure to ‘Like’ Humans of Kingston to enjoy his photography as it’s updated.

A tasty, rich dessert for under 100 calories? These blondies pack sweetness, gooeyness and a buttery taste—so much so that you’d never guess the secret ingredient is chickpeas. Each square is packed with protein and perfect for vegans. What’s best is that the blender does all the work for you.

One thing that I absolutely love about living in Kingston is that no matter where you are you’re very likely to encounter a four-legged canine.
Almost every time I walk down Princess St. I run into people walking with their dogs. Being the dog fanatic that I am, seeing one immediately brightens my day. Not only do I go and pet them, I’ll even go so far as taking their pictures for Instragram. I know that when other people upload pictures of dogs it always makes me smile, so why not spread the cuteness?

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Queen’s Half The Sky dessert night. The event featured 3 speakers who spoke about women’s rights in third world countries. Suffice to say I was incredibly moved and inspired by what I took away from the night. When it comes to coping with third world issues, I’ve learned a lot while attending Queen’s.

Pinterest is a phenomenon that some love, while others not so much. Recently it seems that a lot of attention has been surrounding whether or not the website is too gender exclusive, focusing on what’s stereotypically deemed as “women’s interests.” Many argue that men just aren’t nearly as active at pinning as women.

In below-freezing temperatures, Lake Ontario is silent except for the sounds of wind and blades.

There’s a fine line between a substantial story line and aesthetic appeal in art.

After Vogts A, B and C this year, it’s clear the four mini plays of Vogt aren’t meant to make sense.

Are you there God? It’s Peter Katz here.

When Grad Club Manager Virginia Clark encourages you to come see a show, you don’t say no.

Anyone can get an STI.
I’ll write that again in case it didn’t sink in: anyone can get an STI.
I’m repeating this because there is such significant stigma against people who have or have had an STI. The stigma is that if you have an STI, you must be “dirty”. You must be a “slut” or “irresponsible”. But anyone can get an STI.

My experience in Glasgow has been amazing so far and all the credit is due to the people I’ve met, both the other students here on exchange looking for new experiences and the Glaswegians themselves.

Why pay $10 for an OPI or Zoya matte nail polish when you can DIY it? Making your own matte nail polish takes no time at all and gives you a finished product that’s identical to the real deal.

If you saw last week’s post on cauliflower pizza crust, you’ll love this healthy pasta sauce alternative. Think about it, a pasta sauce that tastes great and makes your skin glow? Count us in.
With healthy fats, vitamins and few calories (less than 400 per serving!), as a self-diagnosed avocado fiend I was excited to try out this unique alternative to my beloved pesto sauce. The recipe took less than 15 minutes and proved to be a huge hit. The smooth and creamy consistency fakes the rich flavour of butter.
