We may be a little too old to trick or treat, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in the spirit of Halloween. Who wouldn’t want to go to Stages dressed up as a ketchup bottle or ninja? As many of us power through midterms, Halloween offers light at the end of the tunnel. QJBlogs brings you sweet treats, thrillers, events and activities to see you through this spooky time of year.
Bake Halloween goodies
Rice Krispie pumpkins: Make regular rice krispies and add red and yellow food coloring to create an orange colour. Form into the rice krispie “dough” into balls, add a tootsie roll for a stem and pipe green icing on for leaves.
Tip: Fill a ziplock bag with the icing and snip off a corner to make a DIY icing piper!
Take a cue from Bakerella and try these mini halloween pumpkin tarts.
Try these easy to make, no oven required pumpkin pretzel bites.
Give Back
Trick or eat: And you thought your trick or treating days were over. Dress up and make your way around Kingston in support of United Way. Participants meet at the gym in MacGillivray – Brown Hall from 5:30 to9 p.m. at 218 Barrie Street. Register with Queen’s University AMS Food Centre & Meal Exchange at trickortreat.ca
