ASUS has named Luisa Padilla and Anais Gouati as this year’s Senate representatives.
Following a two-day voting period, the Arts and Science Undergraduate Society (ASUS) announced in an e-mail to The Journal on Oct. 6 that Luisa Padilla, ArtSci ’28, and Anais Gouati, ArtSci ’26, as the new student representatives on the University Senate. According to ASUS Governance Officer Tina Scott, 343 students participated in this fall’s election. Padilla led with 117 votes, followed by Gouati with 109, and Caleb Rasmussen, ArtSci ’27, with 56.

ASUS Senators sit on the Queen’s Senate, where they help shape academic policy, curriculum decisions, and institutional priorities. The newly elected Senators will serve one-year terms, representing the interests and concerns of undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts and Science.
The new senators will attend their first session of the year on Oct. 30.
